With Eventdrive, you can create an attendee list to collect data about your attendees.
An attendee must have the following 3 pieces of information in Eventdrive:
-
First name
-
Last name
-
An email address
Each attendee is identified by their email address.
By default, two attendees cannot have the same email address.
However, there is an exception that allows you to add an attendee without an email address, or to add two attendees sharing the same email.
To add an attendee without an email address, we will repurpose a platform feature: adding a guest.
⚠️ You cannot add an attendee alone (without a main attendee) if they do not
have an email address.
The reason is simple: it is impossible to communicate with them
and therefore to send them a registration form.
What is a guest?
A guest is a secondary attendee linked to another.
They are not required to have an email address because communications can be sent to the associated main attendee.
How to add a guest without an email address?
From the form:
In your form settings, you can enable the option to allow the addition of guests.
This will allow your attendees to register one or more guest(s) during their event registration via an "Add a guest" button in the registration form.
When the number of +1'('s) that can be added by a participant is greater than or equal to 1, a new option appears in the form fields allowing the email to be made optional for +1's persons.
From the Eventdrive Back Office:
You can manually add a guest from an attendee's profile.
The Email field does not have an asterisk, so it is not mandatory.
How to send emails to my attendee without an email address?
When the accompanying attendee does not have an email address (whether added through a registration form or from the back office), a generic email address is created (ending in @attendees.eventdrive.com).
All communications addressed to the accompanying attendee will then be directly sent to the main attendee's email inbox.
Example: A parent completes their registration with their email address and registers their three children without email addresses.
A badge is sent by email to all attendees (the parent and the three children).
The parent receives four separate emails in their inbox:
-
One email containing their own badge
-
Three separate emails, each containing one of the children's badges
