With Eventdrive, you don't have to send your campaign to every attendee. Filters let you build the recipient list precisely. This article explains where they are, how the two available operators work, and how to combine them on a real case.
Where are the filters?
Filters are used while creating a campaign, at step 2, when you choose the recipients.
- Go to INVITE > Campaigns and create your campaign.
- At step 2, first choose your starting target from the drop-down: all your attendees, a group, a registration status, those registered for a session...
- Then click "+ Add a filter" to refine that target, as many times as needed.
Each filter you add asks you to choose between two operators, With and Without.
What WITH and WITHOUT do
WITH adds people to your selection. It adds two populations together, it does not cross them. If you start from the "VIP" group and add WITH the "Confirmed" status, you get every VIP, plus every confirmed attendee of the event, including those who are not VIP.
⚠️ WITH is not an "and". To get the people who meet
two conditions at once, start from the first one to
build your target, then remove the rest with WITHOUT.
WITHOUT removes people from your selection. If you start from team A and remove WITHOUT team B, you are left with the people in team A who are not in team B.
You can add as many filters as you like by clicking "+ Add a filter" again.
A complete example
You want to follow up with the attendees who haven't answered your invitation yet, but only those arriving by plane, because the message is about their transfer from the airport.
You have therefore created a "Plane" group beforehand, gathering those attendees.
- As your starting target, choose Groups, then the "Plane" group.
- Add a WITHOUT filter for each status you don't want to follow up with: Invite not sent, Pre-registered, Confirmed, Refused.
All that remains are the attendees in the "Plane" group who are still awaiting an answer. That is exactly your target.
The principle is the same for other combinations. For a common case in detail, see the article How to Target the Confirmed Attendees in Your Group?
