With Eventdrive, you can create a customize registration form for your events, making it easier to collect information and manage registrations.
Thanks to the event custom fields, you can design registration forms adapted to the specific needs of each event, providing you with great flexibility to gather accurate and relevant data about your attendees.
What is a sub-question in a registration form?
A sub-question in a registration form allows you to add a second level of questioning based on the answer selected for the initial question.
This helps you gather clearer and more personalized answers, improving the attendee's experience.
It also facilitates the collection of more accurate data and enables more detailed analysis of the information gathered.
⚠️ It is not possible to add a third level sub-question.
Here is a possible use case:
You can start with an initial question such as:
Do you need a parking space? (Yes / No)
If the attendee answers Yes:
- A new question appears asking for their vehicle's registration number.
- Another question is displayed to collect the model and color of their vehicle
Here is an impossible use case:
You ask the attendee the following question:
Do you need a parking space? (Yes / No)
- If the attendee answers Yes, a question appears asking whether their vehicle is electric or combustion-powered.
- If the attendee answers electric, a new question appears asking for their vehicle's registration number and model.
In this second scenario, it is not possible to display an additional based on the answer selected regarding the vehicle type (electric or combustion-powered) because it would be considered as a third level question.
How to add a sub-question to your registration form?
To add a sub-question in your registration form, you first need to select a specific field type (Event custom field).
For more details on this topic, you can consult the dedicated article here.
It is only possible to add a sub-question using the field types single choice and dropdown.
Let's take a specific example to explain how our sub-question feature works:
You want to ask you attendees about any dietary restrictions.
Start with the single choice field and check the box for Add conditional sub-questions.
Once the box is checked, choose the field type for the desired sub-question.
For this question, I opted for the multi-line text field to give attendees enough space to specify their dietary restrictions.
Next, indicate the answer fo which you want the sub-question to appear in the field Show if the attendee chooses.
Finally, insert the question in the Your question field.
⚠️ It is not possible to add a second level of question to a sub-question.
Here the result when previewing the registration form:
By selecting the answer Yes, the sub-question appears immediately below.
By selecting the answer No, no additional question appears.
