Definition
- A push notification is a message sent to a smartphone or a tablette user, this message is linked to an app that has been installed on the device.
Purpose of push notifications
- Push notifications are a good way to keep in touch with your event attendees. "The plenary session starts in 10 minutes?", "An activity will begin?". With pushes, you are thus able to notify your audience with push notifications and keep them informed in real-time.
Various Settings
- Manual sending: send a last minute push notification to your attendees manually.
- Scheduled sending: schedule all your push notifications before your event.
- Sending without redirection: your attendees wil be redirected to the default service of the application or to the last opened service.
- Sending with redirection: your attendees will be redirected to the desired location on the app (e.g."Agenda", "Speakers"...).
- Customised push: set a targeted message to personnalised groups.
- Sending duplicated "Timeline"content: duplicate your push notification content from the "Timeline" of your event
Advice
- Be careful to not send too many push notifications. We recommend sending between 4-8 in a day, they should be spaced out by at least 10-15 minutes otherwise it could disturb your attendees.
- Write quality push notifications and ensure the message is as short as possible.
