With Eventdrive, you can send push notifications to your attendees through moderation interface. Please note that a native app is required to receive push notifications.
Definition
A push notification is a message sent to a smartphone or tablet user. This message is linked to a native application installed on the device.
Purpose of push notifications
Sending push notifications is an excellent way to communicate with your attendees.
Messages like these can be sent throughout your event:
- The keynote starts in 10 minutes?
- An activity is about to begin?
Say it with push notifications. This way, your audience stays informed in real time about the key moments that bring your event to life.
Possible Settings available
-
Send a push: manually send a message to your audience.
-
Scheduled send: plan all your push notifications ahead of your event.
- Send with redirection: upon opening the push notification, direct attendees to a specific tab in the app (e.g., “Agenda,” “Speakers,” etc).
-
Send without redirection: when the attendee opens the notification, they are taken to the app's default service or the last section they visited.
-
Targeted send: send push notifications to specific attendee groups.
-
Post to timeline: also display the content of your push notification in the event’s timeline.
To better understand how to use these different settings effectively, you can consult the following article: How to send push notification?.
Advices
- Be careful to not send too many push notifications. We recommend sending between 4-8 in a day, they should be spaced out by at least 10-15 minutes otherwise it could bother your attendees.
- Ensure the message is as short as possible.
