You are creating a registration form and wish to add conditional questions based on the answers to a previous question? Find out how in this article.
Conditional questions are questions that allow you to obtain additional insights from your participants and are displayed "on condition" of the answer to the previous question they are linked to.
Would you like to come accompanied to the event?
(If the answer is "yes", then a second question is displayed.)
- Please fill in the e-mail address of your guest
In order to use conditional questions you must have created your form beforehand. If this is not the case, discover How to create a registration form?
Go to INVITE > Registration form and have selected the form you wish to edit.
Add a custom field of either the "Single Answer" or "Select" option.
In the example below, we will use the "Single Answer" option.
Under "Label", enter the question you wish to ask.
The helper text allows you to add additional information/indications to help guide your participants.
Enter the "Options" that participants will be able to choose from. As a reminder, since we are using the "Single Answer" option they will only be able to select one response. You can make this field mandatory by checking the "Required" box below.
For our example, here is a form where we ask how the attendees will arrive.
Once you have added your first question and answer choices, you can add conditional sub-questions. You can choose between several types of questions.
The input is almost identical to a first-level question. The only element that is different is that it is necessary to identify the answer to which it is attached.
Example: If my participant selects "Plane" then I ask them at which airport they will arrive.
Repeat these steps for any questions to which you wish to add conditional sub-questions.
Here is an example of what it looks like on the attendee side:
After they have clicked on the option "Plane", they will see this.
