This year Eventdrive launched a new feature that allows events to continue regardless of the distance. Find out in this article how it works.
Live Streaming: What's the point?
The event industry is constantly evolving and leveraging technology to achieve new heights and meet new needs. This is why we challenged ourselves to find different, improved ways that allow teams, employees, and participants to come together despite social distancing. The Live Streaming launched by Eventdrive is an alternative response to these new challenges. Allowing people to come together virtually, to continue to provide strong experiences.
Settings: Define the visibility of your Live Streaming
Go to LIVE STREAMING > Settings
Here you can define whether your event is public or private.
Public: any person with the link can access the live stream. This link can be communicated via Eventdrive or by your preferred means: internal mailing tools, social networks.
Private: the link to your live stream is private and a participant code is required to access, i.e. a password to access your event. By clicking on the "private" mode a code will be generated below as "participant code".
Underneath this section, you see the access codes.
There are two types of codes: the presenter code and the participant code.
Presenter code: this must be communicated to the presenters of your event. It allows them to access the participant presentation window.
Participant code: This code is only visible if your virtual event is private. It must then be communicated to all your guests so that they can access the live event on the big day.
On the settings page, it is also possible to create a short URL. This is constructed as follows: https://evdr.co/xxxx
You can add the name of your event, for example, or simply its initials with the year.
For example: the event "Inbound Marketing Day 2021" can become https://evdr.co/IMD2021.
You can also add the URL of your Live to your ICS files. ICS files are the "Calendar" type files that allow you to add an event to your calendar. This way, your participants will more easily find the link to your virtual event.
Don't forget to save your changes.
Design: Choose your Live window design
This time, go to LIVE STREAMING > Design.
Here you can download the background image and header logo of your choice. These will be visible in your event live window.
If you leave this section blank, the live show will use the default settings you have defined in your website under INVITE > Website > Design.
Recordings : Find the recording of your Live event
Go to LIVE STREAMING > Recordings.
Once your event is over, find all the downloadable recordings in this section. You will be able to download these files in mp4 format in order to reuse them as communication supports or for your next posts on social networks for example!
